I have tried several name brand soldering torches which all fell short of expectations…but the Pro90 is a pleasant exception…by far one of the best and reasonably priced. 4 stars…Some minor improvements such as a view-able butane compartment would be nice! As a hobbyist for over 25 years, I’ve always appreciated Iso-Tip products. Keep the great products rolling!

This is the best solder torch I ever work with! It is ready to solder in less than 30 seconds. I also like the blow torch for precise re-flow work. The quality of the iron is excellent as well the case with accessories.
    Thank you ISO-TIP!

After using other Butane soldering tools, and returning them for not meeting my expectations, I decided to do some research and find one that would meet my expectations. After reading the manufacturer’s specifications features and details on the Iso Tip pro 90 , I decided to give the Iso Tip pro 90 a try. Upon receiving it I started feeling that this might be the one I was looking for, it looked good and felt good in my hands. I immediately filled it with butane and started my testing. After a few tries of turning it on and off, it always fired on the first click. This was the main issue with other brand units I had used, I had to fire the ignition a few time before a flame would come out. With this in mind, I kept trying to make the Iso Tip pro 90 fail, but could not do so, in fact I must have tried it tens of times and it always worked properly on the first try with no issues. I’ve used it extensively to solder light and heavy duty wire plus other components and it never disappointed me, and I’m not easy to please. You can solder and use it on shrink tubing at the same time using the same tip. The hole on the tip generates more than enough heat to use it on shrink tube and when it’s still hot with the gas turned off, you don’t need to hit the trigger to turn it back on again, just turn the gas lever back on. It also functions beautifully as a torch and a surface mount de-soldering to by using the provided tip. Once you fill it with butane it lasts a long time (55 minutes on medium), I hardly ever went beyond the middle setting to use it with anything, it’s just wonderful to work with. In nowadays it’s hard to find a good product that does what it’s suppose do, So far I have had no issues with the Iso Tip pro 90 at all. If it holds up, when I can afford, I will Be purchasing the Iso Tip 120 which has a capacity of 200 minutes as opposed to 55 minutes and a much higher temperature range. I always use PREMIUM butane with all gas tools, so that clogs do not occur, this way the life of the tool can be greatly increased.

This was a replacement for my old Radio Shack butane iron, which lasted for over 20 years. After research on Amazon, I found it less expensive to order directly from ISO-TIP, and after using the iron for a few days, am very satisified with the quality and operation. It heats up to soldering temperature much faster than my old iron, lights on the first click, and the heat gun tip puts out an impressive amount of heat.

The only complaint with the iron is it would be nice to have a viewport to see the butane level, versus just shaking to guess how full it is. The case is nice quality, but the hinges do not open flat, a minor annoyance. It would be useful to have some extra space in the case for accessories (heat sink clips) and a place to store the instruction sheet in the lid.

A big plus for the instructions, all in English, and a company that I feel will be in business for a long time, should I need parts.

Works great! Lights reliably. Heats quickly. Seems to be well built. The heat gun tip is excellent for shrink tubing.

I am a Amateur Radio Operator and having a soldering iron available in the field is crucial. The Iso-Tip fits the bill perfectly for field repairs, works reliably. As a bonus i get to use the hot air attachment for shrinking shrink tubing that was always tough to do in a windy location when fixing a cable in the field. So far loving the quality, reliable operation and ease of use for my use case.
